The Precious Codex, update

I am continuing the work of my book- decorative silver covers, record of making it as the filler. I cut out the spine. I pierced a stylized backbone and then stamped words of strength. I knew the stamps would be wibbly. It's not something that I care enough about to get it perfect. The last letter that I stamped was the "G" in Grit and I stamped it sideways.

I had started to pierce the front cover last week

I finished the major areas, now for clean-up; finishing the edges, carving some of the spaces. I want to stamp an invitation/explanation for the codex (It isn't a book, I am writing each page separately to be bound later so it's technically a code) around the edge of the front cover and my take on what Michel de Montaigne painted on his wall when he retired as an homage to him for the back cover.

What the pieces looked like today as I left my bench. Progress!

Hinges and some edging on the spine are next. I also want to take the QR code for this site and set it in a bezel for the clasp. I haven't decided if I am going to just rivet the paper cover to the metal or make pockets for it. I have time to make that decision.
