The Codex is taking shape - update April 4, 2025

I've finished the hinges and the clasp for the book! The covers warped as I expected but accepted that they are wibbly. No way will anyone think this is made by laser-cut/3D printer!

Lots of clean-up but it's exciting to see the piece take it's form.

The written pages that will fill the Codex

I started the piece on March 1, 2025. This is how much of the daily writing of the piece and the experience of making it I have finished. I estimate I have about three more months of writing to 'fill' the book. (technically a Codex because I am writing individual pages to be bound later. I didn't expect the pages to be darker from the side.

Rivet for the latch

Can't find it

I also lost the rivet that I made to hold the QR code to this blog. It was for the latch so you could scan and see images of the Codex in prgress. It was on my bench yesterday (I took that picture before putting everything together. Couldn't find it at the end of the day. Cleaned off the bench, looked on the floor. I can make another one but I can't stand losing something when I didn't even go anywhere with it.
